Interlink Software’s very own Colin Griffiths is putting himself to the challenge of competing in the Great North Run on the 11th September this year. Colin’s brother lost both kidneys to cancer, so he’s doing it to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Photographed here limbering up at his training camp we see a man of steely determination, edging towards peak levels of fitness. Age 49, it’s difficult to believe that this is Colin’s first ever half marathon – for those of you who aren’t aware a distance of a whole 21.0975 Kilometers.

Colin puts himself through his paces

Colin tells us his training schedule is off to a flying start. He completed his first 10K training run on the 23rd May in 56 minutes, followed up by another just a week later clocking in at 57 minutes. Consistent. Sounds promising to us. Rumour has it he’s been considering installing a treadmill in his office to simultaneously perform his training AND Customer / Project Support activities. That’s dedication for you!

You can help Colin smash his £1,225 fundraising target by donating at his Just Giving page HERE

All contributions gratefully received.
