Interlink Software People ~ Colin Griffiths
Longstanding team member Colin Griffiths our Chief Technology Officer gives us an insight in to his role and what makes him tick!
How long have you been part of the team and what did you do before?
I think I was born into the Team it’s been that long! But seriously I’ve been on board since the very early days as one of the original founders which is around 18 fantastic years and pretty much enjoyed every minute of it.
Describe your role and where you fit in
I’ve worn a few hats over the years beginning as a salt of the earth developer and rising to Chief Technology Officer as the company expanded and now I’m heading up Project and Customer Support. It’s certainly been an interesting Journey and one I wouldn’t have passed on for anything.
What are you working on just now?
My PC! Oh and a few customer projects – just making sure everything is running smoothly in the well-oiled machine that is Interlink Software’s Project and Customer Support function.
What’s the best thing about working with Interlink Software?
It has to be the staff and the camaraderie. We’re all in it together and sharing the same passions and dreams.
Get your crystal ball out – what’s coming around the corner in the world of enterprise IT?
Virtual Reality is going to be huge this year and beyond. It’s a game changer, no pun intended. And it’s going to affect everything in life, a bit like the mobile phone, Tablets HD TV’s have. We will see Virtual Reality filtering down into every industry. I’m really excited about it and want to get my hands on an Oculus Rift as soon as I can. I think it’s one of those things that will explode into everyday life and will remain there for the foreseeable future. It’s coming so get ready…
What do you get up to outside of your work life?
I enjoy nature so spend a lot of my time outside walking in the great British countryside with my wife and our dog. I’m also a bit of a health freak so regularly attend the Gym and eat well. I think it’s important to strike a good balance between work and family life.
Who inspires you and why?
Visionaries like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Al Gore and of course Lloyd Hopkins. People that inspire others to achieve not only their own ambitions and aspirations but also a common vision to achieve something that will improve the world.
