Interlink Software People ~ Matt Sweeney ~ A Moment In The Limelight
How long have you been part of the Interlink Software team and what did you do before?
I joined after graduating from the University of Manchester five and a half years ago. I studied Information Technology Management for Business. My course mixed technical aspects of IT with business and managerial operations.
Describe your role and where you fit in
I work as a Technical Analyst. This involves working with and supporting all of our software solutions. I work closely with our customers and prospects on their Business Service Management projects and proof of concepts.
What are you working on just now?
At Interlink Software we are always busy and at the moment I’m working on various different projects. This involves developing new dashboards, modelling business services and upgrading older versions of our software to the latest releases.
What’s the best thing about working with Interlink Software?
The aspect of my job that I enjoy the most is the variety. One week I can be working in the office on anything from project or support work, to testing new software releases. The next I might be out at a customer site, travelling up and down the UK. I frequently travel to cities further afield – in Europe, South Africa and India. I enjoy working closely with our customers and strive to provide professional, helpful and courteous support, which is an ethos we at Interlink Software pride ourselves on.
What do you get up to outside of your work life?
I consider myself to be very active and sociable outside of work life. I enjoy playing and watching football (mostly watching!), as well as the occasional game of squash and trip to the gym. I also enjoy following horse racing, with my favourite week of the year being the Cheltenham Festival week in March! I also play for a pool team in the winter and crown green bowls in the summer.
Who inspires you and why?
People who endlessly battle barriers that are preventing them from achieving success, don’t take no for an answer and work hard to overcome adversity and hardship inspire me. As well as people who devote so much of their time to charity and helping others.
